Summer is finally upon us! Highways are packed with travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes as people set off on vacations of various kinds. Hopefully you too will find yourself in a similar situation on your way to a relaxing summer spot. But regardless of where you’re headed, the true adventure when traveling by RV lies in the journey and not the destination. Planning your trip can be difficult- especially if you’re traveling to a place you’ve never been before. But with the technology available to us nowadays- we have the luxury of plentiful information to help us better map out our trips. I recently stumbled upon a travel site that I had never heard of before. It’s called Roadtrippers.com and it is a great tool to use when planning your RV adventure. The purpose of the site is to provide you with possible stopping points along your road trip according to your interests. The site is straightforward and easy to use. You simply enter your start point and your end point and then select the types of stops you’d like to make along the way. The categories on the site include:
- Food + Drink
When you select the categories that interest you, Roadtrippers drops pins on the map along your route as suggested stop points. Through this site I have found several restaurants, national parks, and historic sites I had no idea existed beforehand! The site also comes with other helpful features like total mileage from your start point to your end point as well as estimated gas cost, which can be calculated for diesel as well. They have also developed a mobile app for roadtripper so you can easily view the places you wish to visit on your smart phone or tablet. This site is perfect for the camping community. When traveling across the country in your RV, get out of the box and find something new!
