Things to Do for Memorial Day
Memorial Day is right around the corner and if you haven’t started thinking about how you’re going to celebrate this year, that’s ok, because we’ve thought of some things for you. Memorial Day is much more than just barbecue, beer and boating. It’s a chance for Americans to get together and pay tribute to our fallen soldiers who have died while serving this great country. There are a lot of fun memorial day events going on in Southern California. Here are some you should check out.
The Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade
Get your memorial day started off right with the 26th annual Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade. Located in Cagona Park, CA. Nothing says Memorial Day like a festive parade with floats, music and lots of people! If you want something the whole family can enjoy, start the day off here. It’s only about a 48 min drive from Acton, so go ahead and make a pit stop before heading towards Los Angeles for more memorial day festivities!

To wash that food down, stop by the Charity Beer and Wine Garden featuring different brews and wine selections. All proceeds of your purchase go back to the participating non-profit organizations in the community. So drink and give back at the same time! If you’ve got the kiddos in tow, no problem, the festival also has a kiddie carnival that includes mechanical rides, a 30ft slide, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a rock climbing wall.
