Amazing California Road Trips
Living in the great state of California definitely has its perks!
But sometimes living in a state this size is a disadvantage. With so many great national parks and sights to see, some Californians might want to start their travels in their own state before visiting others!
If you are thinking of taking a California vacation in your RV this spring or summer, here are a couple of ideas that might be helpful! California is a beautiful state, and visiting these places will surely be helpful in appreciating what California is all about!
Redwood National and State Parks
Redwood National Park[/caption] If you are looking to camp in a place that is home to the tallest trees on planet Earth, look no further than Redwood National Park in northern California. While known mostly for it’s massive trees that can grow as high as 370 feet, the park is also home to lush prairie, rapid river-ways, and miles of beautiful coastline for everyone to enjoy. The park offers many attractions and trails to not only hike and bike, but also to camp as well. With four different campgrounds that each offer unique activities and different perspectives of the Redwoods and surrounding areas, your camping experience just got a whole lot cooler! If you are looking for places to travel within Redwood Park, here are a few ideas to get your trip started!
- Drive down Coastal Drive where this road features great Pacific Ocean views, the World War II Radar Station, and Highbluff Overlook.
- Roosevelt elk can be seen if you travel down Davison Road. In addition, you can also see one of the few water falls in the park at Trillium Falls Trail. Nearing the end of the road you can survey the waters of Fern Canyon for some great creatures!
- Take part in some amazing hiking or drive down the Avenue of Giants, where you can view the tallest trees known to man.
No matter where you go within Redwood Park, it is sure to amaze your group with the sheer beauty and tranquillity it offers.
Yosemite National Park
A View of Yosemite Park[/caption] Located towards the eastern part of the state, Yosemite National Park is definitely a place that should be on every Californians bucket list. Yosemite features the most breathtaking views imaginable. In one day you can see numerous wildlife roam on a beautiful prairie, huge waterfalls that capture your mind or glaciers that were formed thousands of years ago. Yosemite Park truly has everything one could want in a road trip destination. Camping is very popular at Yosemite, and reservations are made several months in advance. If you are looking to take an RV trip to the park, we suggest booking your reservation ahead of time. Being able to camp in Yosemite just adds to the fun! Here are some things to do and places to drive once inside Yosemite.
Yosemite Valley has impressive waterfalls, meadows, cliffs, and unusual rock formations, all in one place! Come see what makes this valley so famous.
The O'Shaugnessy Dam is located in Hetch Hetchy Valley, and it provides visitors a chance a to see several waterfalls, rock formations and reservoirs.
Hiking in Yosemite[/caption] Once in Yosemite, you might want to participate in several outdoor activities that are available among some great scenery. Throughout Yosemite there is fishing, rafting, rock climbing, hiking, skiing and so much more to take advantage of. The world is truly your oyster at Yosemite!
